Months ago I started noticing a change in my approach to street photography. Not that visable in the things I post but really in the feeling I have when out on the street. I let go of hoping to find certain images, compositions, people or situations and tried to be even more in the moment. Like I said, it’s not that notable in what I post but when I’m on the street it feels less like a hunt but more relaxed, just being present, observing, capturing. The pictures I take are not always feeling that satisfying, only the time spent outdoors is much more valuable. The encounters are deeper as is the connection with the street and foremost the people on it.

The human element is what is has to be about for me. It can be funny, sad, ambiguous or just dull. It’s not in my hands so let go. Pushing yourself also feels different, not so mandatory, it goes more natural. You find more space in your head to think about long term projects made with the pictures you took. Things fall into place.

Thanks for being part of my journey.
